Preschool

Montessori-based preschool with certified teachers for students 2-4 years. Choose 4 or 5 days per week for consistent, in-person early education.

Small, safe learning pods of up to 5 children each, offering early education and proven curriculum led by certified teachers.

We are excited to be starting Music classes in Central Park! Virtual Parent seminars and workshops will also be offered throughout the year.

CURRICULUM

Playgarden Prep students thrive in carefully prepared classrooms designed to encourage independence. Children will be introduced to separation, daily routine and classroom environment. Our program employs the Montessori method to instill focus during individual work, and a more traditional method to build experience in group lessons. We strive to ready students for future success in a variety of educational settings. Potty training is practiced all year and is a vital component in preparing little ones for preschool.

LANGUAGE

Introduction to phonics, capital and lowercase letters and pre-reading.
Introduction to basic Spanish words.

MATH

Focus on number recognition, counting and early addition.
Introduces shapes, patterns and geometry to develop spatial awareness.

SCIENCE

Sensory table activities explore sand, rocks, water, soil and other textural elements. Introduction to the scientific method, color mixing, seed to plant and basic experiments.

ART

Projects introduce a variety of mediums, styles and artists. Introduction to holding a stylus, stamping, clay, gluing and paint.

MUSIC

Focus on a new genre of music and introduces a new instrument each month. JAZZ-SOUL-CLASSICAL-REGGAE-POP-BLUEGRASS

MOVEMENT

Physical education includes yoga, dance, obstacle courses and basic sports fundamentals.

NUTRITION

Weekly food tastings and vegan baking projects. Introduction to mindful eating, setting the table, food preparation, and food groups.

**Due to COVID-19, tuition for Playgarden Prep preschool programs will now be paid in three installments. The first is a non-refundable 50% deposit paid upon acceptance. The remaining balances are due before start the start of each semester (9/1 and 1/1).

LEARNING PODS

Children are placed into small groups of 5 little ones and classes take place in a clean, safe classroom environment. The program consists of 1.5 hours of early education and development 1 to 3 days a week. Our curriculum focuses on language, art, and sensory lessons. The structure of the day also includes movement and music segments. Enrollment is by semester.

We are committed to continuing Early Education and important Social Play for children in the early years

We have taken measures to ensure our facilities are ready for students to return safely. We are offering our private preschool curriculum in a comprehensive online program to reach those families that are living all over the world and those who need supplemental learning at home.
